Nate Diaz Returns to the Octagon: Will Face Mike Perry in a Netflix MMA Event
Nate Diaz, a renowned MMA fighter, will compete in the cage again after almost four years. The long-awaited return will be against Mike Perry, known as the “King of Violence” of BKFC, in a welterweight fight of five rounds. This match will be part of the MMA event organized by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) on May 16, which will be broadcast on Netflix. The event, which will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, will also feature the stellar fights of Ronda Rousey against Gina Carano, and Francis Ngannou against Philipe Lins, becoming a triple card of great magnitude. MVP has achieved the most-watched boxing event since the advent of cable television, and now we are ready to break records again with the largest audience in MMA history. This will be achieved with the addition of Diaz vs. Perry to Rousey vs. Carano and Ngannou vs. Lins. Nate Diaz, 40 years old, had his last MMA fight in September 2022, where he defeated Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. Subsequently, he ventured into boxing, losing by unanimous decision to Jake Paul in 2023 and winning by majority decision against Jorge Masvidal in 2024. Diaz, a native of Stockton, California, is one of the most popular figures in combat sports, with victories over Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone, in addition to his iconic rivalry with Conor McGregor, whom he submitted in 2016. In 2019, Diaz competed for the symbolic “BMF” title of the UFC, losing to Jorge Masvidal. His return to MMA will be against an opponent who, although he fought in the UFC, has had a meteoric rise in bare-knuckle boxing.Mike “Platinum” Perry, who competed in the UFC until 2021 with an MMA record of 14-8, has found success in bare-knuckle boxing, with a record of 6-0, including victories over Michael “Venom” Page, Jeremy Stephens, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez. His success earned him the symbolic “King of Violence” championship. Like Diaz, Perry also ventured into boxing, being stopped in the sixth round by Jake Paul in July 2024.I’m glad to be back in action. It’s time. Don’t forget where all this comes from. I plan to do much more in the next 10 years, no matter where it is. It’s time to set the standard again, so get ready for a new conquest again and again until the end of time.
