Jorge Masvidal Wins Legal Victory Worth Millions Against Fanmio

UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has secured a significant victory in his legal battle against the online platform Fanmio. A Florida judge issued a default judgment in favor of Masvidal, awarding him over $5 million in his lawsuit. This failure stems from Masvidal’s lawsuit against Fanmio, the company that promoted his 2024 boxing match against Nate Diaz. Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez approved Masvidal’s request, after an arbitrator awarded the former BMF champion $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest. Masvidal filed the lawsuit in January, alleging that his agreement for the fight with Diaz included a $6 million purse, plus an additional $1 million if he won. Masvidal lost the fight by decision and claimed to have received only a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment. The referee ruled in favor of Masvidal, and with final approval, the matter is resolved. However, Fanmio still faces lawsuits from other fighters. Nate Diaz filed a lawsuit against Fanmio two weeks after Masvidal’s, claiming more than $9 million. An arbitrator awarded Diaz $6 million, plus attorney’s fees. That case is still awaiting final approval. In March, Fanmio filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and Ryan Garcia.
