Jorge Masvidal Wins Million-Dollar Lawsuit Against Fanmio
UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has secured a significant legal victory. A Florida judge ruled in his favor, awarding him a judgment for breach of contract exceeding $5 million against the online platform Fanmio.
Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez approved Masvidal’s request, formalizing the ruling after an arbitrator awarded the former BMF champion $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest related to his boxing match.
Masvidal filed the lawsuit against Fanmio in January, alleging that the agreement for his 2024 boxing match against Nate Diaz included a $6 million purse, with an additional $1 million if he won. Masvidal lost the fight by decision and claimed to have received only a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment.
The referee backed Masvidal, and with the final approval of the ruling, the matter has been resolved. However, Fanmio still faces more litigation.
Nate Diaz also sued Fanmio, claiming over $9 million. An arbitrator awarded Diaz $6 million, plus attorney’s fees. This case is still awaiting final approval.
In March, Fanmio initiated a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and Ryan Garcia.
