Masvidal Wins Legal Million-Dollar Victory Against Fanmio

UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has secured a significant legal victory. A Florida judge awarded him a default judgment of over $5 million in his lawsuit against the online platform Fanmio. Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez approved Masvidal’s request, after an arbitrator awarded the former BMF champion $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest, related to his 2024 boxing match against Nate Diaz. Masvidal sued Fanmio in January, alleging that his agreement for the fight with Diaz included a $6 million purse, plus an additional million if he won. Masvidal lost the fight by decision and claimed he only received a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment. The referee ruled in favor of Masvidal, and with the final approval, this matter is resolved. However, Fanmio still faces lawsuits from other fighters.

Two weeks after Masvidal’s lawsuit, Nate Diaz filed a lawsuit against Fanmio, claiming he was owed more than $9 million. An arbitrator awarded Diaz $6 million, plus attorney’s fees. That case is still awaiting final approval. In March, Fanmio filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and Ryan Garcia.
