Jorge Masvidal Wins Million-Dollar Legal Victory Against Fanmio

UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has secured a significant legal victory. A Florida judge awarded him a default judgment of over $5 million in his lawsuit against the online platform Fanmio.

The company promoted his boxing match in 2024 against Nate Diaz.

Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez approved Masvidal’s request to grant the ruling. This happened after an arbitrator awarded the former BMF champion $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest related to the fight.

Masvidal sued Fanmio in January, alleging that his agreement for the fight with Diaz included a $6 million purse, plus an additional $1 million if he won. Masvidal lost the fight by decision and claimed he only received a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment.

The referee ruled in favor of Masvidal, and with final approval, the matter has been resolved.

However, Fanmio still faces lawsuits from other fighters.

Nate Diaz filed a lawsuit against Fanmio two weeks after Masvidal’s, claiming that he was owed more than $9 million. An arbitrator awarded Diaz $6 million, along with attorney’s fees. That case is still awaiting final approval.

In March, Fanmio filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and Ryan Garcia.
