Jorge Masvidal Wins Million-Dollar Lawsuit Against Fanmio
UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has secured a significant legal victory. A Florida judge has ruled in his favor, granting him a default judgment of over $5 million in his lawsuit against the online platform Fanmio.
Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez signed Masvidal’s request, granting the sentence after an arbitration ruling that awarded the former BMF champion $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest derived from his boxing match.
Masvidal had sued Fanmio in January, arguing that the agreement for his fight against Nate Diaz included a purse of $6 million, plus an additional million if he won the fight. Masvidal lost the fight by decision and claimed to have received only a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment.
The referee ruled in favor of Masvidal, and with final approval, the matter has been resolved.
However, Fanmio still faces litigation with other fighters.

Nate Diaz filed a lawsuit against Fanmio two weeks after Masvidal’s, claiming over $9 million. An arbitrator awarded Diaz $6 million, plus attorney’s fees. That case is still awaiting final approval.
In March, Fanmio filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and Ryan Garcia for a canceled exhibition match against Rukiya Anpo, scheduled for December 31, 2024. Garcia chose to fight Rolando Romero in May.
