Attention, mixed martial arts fanatics! Alofoke Deportes brings you the latest updates in the UFC world. The divisional rankings have undergone significant changes, with Islam Makhachev leading the transformation.

Makhachev Ascends to the Welterweight Throne

Islam Makhachev, after an impressive victory over Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322, has climbed to the top of the welterweight division. This achievement is even more remarkable considering that Makhachev was already number one in lightweight. Saturday night’s victory secured him the championship in a division 15 pounds heavier. Makhachev’s rise is just one part of the restructuring that UFC 322 brought in the welterweight division. Knockout victories by Michael Morales and Carlos Prates also boosted their position in the top 10.

New Lightweight Leaders

Makhachev’s move to welterweight has opened up new opportunities in lightweight, with Ilia Topuria now holding the number one spot. Furthermore, Beneil Dariush’s knockout loss to Benoît Saint Denis at UFC 322, and Renato Moicano’s entry into the rankings, have reconfigured the lightweight rankings.
