Charles Oliveira vs. Rafael Fiziev Canceled at UFC Fight Night
The lightweight main event between Charles Oliveira and Rafael Fiziev for the UFC Fight Night on October 11th has been canceled.
The fight, which was scheduled to headline the UFC Fight Night in Rio de Janeiro, is off due to an injury to Fiziev (13-4), according to sources.
The UFC has not yet issued comments on Fiziev’s injury or a possible replacement.
Oliveira (35-11), 35 years old, was scheduled to compete in his home country, Brazil, for the first time since March 2020. He was looking to recover from a knockout loss to Ilia Topuria in their June bout for the vacant division title.
Fiziev, 32, was looking to build on a decision win over Ignacio Bahamondes in June. Previously, he had lost by decision to Justin Gaethje on short notice in March.
