Diego Lopes Knocks Out Jean Silva in Action-Packed Event

In a night filled with emotions at the UFC Fight Night event in San Antonio, Diego Lopes achieved an impressive knockout victory over Jean Silva in a featured featherweight bout. Lopes, after a defeat in April, demonstrated his ability to recover and his effectiveness in the octagon. Lopes, with a record of 27-7, was close to finishing the fight in the first round, achieving the mount position and connecting elbows that made Silva bleed. Despite the intense offense, Silva resisted. In the second round, Lopes connected a spinning elbow that knocked Silva down, and took the opportunity to launch a series of blows until referee Mike Beltran stopped the fight at 4:48. Lopes’ celebration was interrupted when Silva, visibly affected and with blood on his face, stood up and pushed his opponent.

This game has levels: your level and the high level. I am at the high level. I proved it tonight.

For Silva (16-3), this defeat ends a streak of 13 consecutive victories dating back to 2018. In another featured fight, Tatiana Suarez dominated Amanda Lemos, securing a unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). Suarez, ranked number 5 in the strawweight category, achieved takedowns in all three rounds and accumulated a control time of 9 minutes and 34 seconds. This victory marks Suarez’s return after her first professional defeat in February. Lemos, for his part, connected few significant blows in the first two rounds, trying to react in the third round, but without managing to reverse the result. Lemos has suffered two defeats in his last three fights. The UFC Fight Night event, held in commemoration of Mexican Independence Day, was originally scheduled to take place in Mexico, but was moved due to delays in the construction of a new arena.
