Beneil Dariush Loses Weight and Will Be Fined at UFC 322
Lightweight fighter Beneil Dariush will face a financial penalty at UFC 322 after failing to make the required weight. Dariush exceeded the category limit by 1.2 pounds.
Dariush, with a record of 23 wins, 6 losses, and 1 draw, weighed in at 157.2 pounds on the scale for his fight against Benoit Saint Denis (15-3). The limit for non-title lightweight fights is 156 pounds.
Despite this setback, the Dariush vs. Saint Denis matchup remains on the main card of UFC 322 at Madison Square Garden.
Dariush will have to concede 20% of his purse. However, the exact amount of the fine is not public due to the regulations of the state of New York.
