Yankees Suffer Setback on the Mound: Ryan Yarbrough to the Injured List

New York – The New York Yankees have suffered another setback in their pitching staff. This Sunday, Ryan Yarbrough was placed on the 15-day injured list due to a strain in his right oblique. Yarbrough, a 33-year-old right-handed pitcher, has a 3-1 record with a 3.90 ERA in eight starts and eight relief appearances this season. This situation adds to the already existing significant absences in the team. The Yankees are already without their ace, Gerrit Cole, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery. In addition, Luis Gil, American League Rookie of the Year, is out with a back strain, and Marcus Stroman is also absent due to a knee injury. To cover this absence, the team has called up left-handed pitcher Jayvien Sandridge from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
