Brandon Woodruff Returns to Action with the Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff is scheduled for his long-awaited return to the Major Leagues this weekend in Miami. The two-time All-Star planned to hold a bullpen session on Thursday at Citi Field before the Milwaukee game against the New York Mets. His debut is scheduled for Sunday against the Marlins, in the last game of a three-game series. Woodruff hasn’t pitched in the majors since undergoing shoulder surgery after the 2023 season. In his career, he has a 46-26 record with a 3.10 ERA in 115 starts and 15 relief appearances. The 32-year-old right-handed pitcher abandoned his first rehabilitation period this year due to tendinitis in his right ankle. He was pitching for Triple-A Nashville again on June 3 when a line drive at 108 mph hit him in the right elbow, leaving him with a bruise that delayed his return. It’s a very important part of the Brewers’ organization. I’m very excited for him.
