Fenway Park Workers on Strike, Impacting Red Sox vs. Dodgers Series Start

BOSTON – Hundreds of Aramark workers at Fenway Park are on strike and plan to maintain it during the home series between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers, which will begin Friday night. Concession workers set a deadline for Aramark and Fenway Park to reach an agreement with Local 26 of the union of hotel, casino, airport, and food service workers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island by Friday noon.

“Dignified wages, safeguards on technology, and R-E-S-P-E-C-T!”

The union started the strike at noon, demanding “decent wages, safeguards on technology, and R-E-S-P-E-C-T!”. With the scheduled start of the game between the Red Sox and the Dodgers at 7:10 p.m. EDT, union representatives called on fans attending this home series, as food and beverage workers are on strike.

“We ask that you DO NOT buy concessions inside the stadium,” Local 26 wrote on social media. “Have a tailgate before the games!”

Union workers marched on the picket line wearing green t-shirts that declared “FENWAY WORKERS ON STRIKE”. They carried baseball-shaped signs proclaiming Local 26. The Red Sox will play away on Monday night in Minnesota.
