Corey Seager to the Injured List Again

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager has been placed on the 10-day injured list, sources reported. This is the second time Seager has gone on the injured list this season due to right hamstring discomfort, a setback that has kept him out of action in several recent games.

The player, recognized as the World Series MVP on two occasions, had already missed four of the previous five games due to this same injury. The most recent addition to the injured list is retroactive to Sunday.

Seager had only participated in five games since his activation on May 3, after missing 10 games due to a right hamstring strain. It is noteworthy that, during his brief return, he managed to hit two home runs on Saturday in Detroit.

Luke Jackson’s Situation After Being Hit by a Line

Regarding right-handed closer Luke Jackson, no immediate decision was made despite being hit on his throwing hand by a 111 mph line drive. The incident occurred in the ninth inning of the game against Colorado, in which the Rangers secured a 2-1 victory.

Although Jackson presented some inflammation on Tuesday, the X-rays and CT scan did not reveal any fractures. The pitcher expressed that he does not anticipate the need to go on the injured list.

He was seen in the clubhouse using a stress ball in his right hand, seeking to alleviate the inflammation in the upper part of his hand and the wrist area where he was hit.

Kyle Higashioka Activated

On the other hand, catcher Kyle Higashioka was activated from the 10-day injured list, after missing 12 games due to a mild left intercostal strain.

Seager, who is in his fourth season with the Rangers, the product of a 10-year, $325 million contract, is batting .300 with six home runs and 12 RBIs in 26 games this season.

The five-time All-Star missed the end of last season after undergoing his second hernia surgery in less than eight months.

Ryan McMahon led the ninth inning for Colorado when he hit the ball directly to Jackson. The ball hit the pitcher’s hand and went up before falling to the ground, resulting in an infield single.

Jackson commented that that must have been “the hardest ball” he’s ever hit.
