A culminating moment for Warming Bernabel, who was doused with ice water, symbolized a shift in the dynamics of the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies secured an exciting victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers, with a score of 4-3 on Monday night, thanks to Bernabel’s single in the ninth inning. This victory broke a streak of ten consecutive losses against the Dodgers and tied the longest winning streak of the season for the Rockies, with four games won in a row. Since the All-Star break, the Rockies have posted a 14-15 record, while the Dodgers, leaders of the National League West Division, have a 13-15 record. Although the Rockies are still 35 games away from the defending World Series champions, they have avoided the danger of setting a record for losses in the modern era of Major League Baseball. With a record of 36-89, Colorado needs to win six of its last 37 games to avoid the 2024 White Sox record, who finished with a record of 41-121.

We are at this stage right now where we are trying to improve as a team. We are trying to play the game the right way and do things to put ourselves in a position in the future to get to where some of these teams we are playing against are.

You definitely see flashes. We’re a very young team. But getting that learning experience and figuring out how to win at this level and how to do it together as a team has been great to see over the last month or so.

It’s good to get a win. We’re playing good baseball right now. We just went out and played clean baseball and played the way we’ve been playing.

The Dodgers arrived for the four-game series in Denver after sweeping the San Diego Padres. In the ninth inning, the Dodgers played with their deep outfielders to prevent a double, which ultimately cost them the game. Ezequiel Tovar started a rally with a double that Teoscar Hernández couldn’t catch.

It’s a big garden. I tried to make a play. I didn’t do it.

Bernabel connected a pitch from Justin Wrobleski and sent the ball to center field to drive in Tovar.

There’s no better way to win a game in baseball than with a walk-off. It’s always fun when that happens.
