Denver – The Colorado Rockies have placed closer Seth Halvorsen on the 15-day injured list due to a right elbow strain, after leaving Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Interim manager Warren Schaeffer indicated that the injury did not look favorable, after the right-handed pitcher left the game after throwing five pitches in the ninth inning. Halvorsen leads the Rockies with 11 saves.
Colorado called up right-handed pitcher Nick Anderson and catcher Braxton Fulford from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, while infielder Michael Toglia was sent to Albuquerque.
Halvorsen, 25 years old, has a 1-2 record with an ERA of 4.99 this season. He made his Major League debut in August 2024.
