Victor Robles Ejected After Incident in Minor League Game

Seattle Mariners outfielder Victor Robles was ejected from a minor league game on Sunday while on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma. The incident occurred after Robles was nearly hit by an inside pitch and threw his bat towards the pitcher.

In the bottom of the third inning, the first pitch from Las Vegas’s starting pitcher, Joey Estes, was inside. Robles tried to dodge it, but the pitch grazed him. After taking a few steps back and dropping the bat, Robles picked it up and threw it in Estes’s direction, which led to his immediate ejection by umpire Joe McCarthy.

Robles, who had been hit by pitches on three occasions during his last four games with Tacoma, took a few steps toward the mound while yelling at the pitcher, but was held back by McCarthy and Las Vegas teammates.

After entering the dugout, Robles threw a box of snacks towards the field before heading to the clubhouse.
