Austin Riley Misses Rest of Season with Injury

Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley will undergo surgery for a core injury and will be out for the remainder of the season, the team announced. Riley is expected to return for spring training in 2026, according to information provided by the team. Riley was placed on the injured list earlier this month for the second time in two months due to a strain in his lower abdominal muscle. The two-time All-Star finishes the season with a .260 batting average, 16 home runs, and 54 RBIs in 102 games. In other moves made, the Braves claimed right-handed pitcher Cal Quantrill from the Miami Marlins and sent right-handed pitcher Dane Dunning to Triple-A Gwinnett.
