Jake Fraley Returns to Action with the Reds
Cincinnati Reds right fielder Jake Fraley was activated from the 10-day injured list this Saturday. The news comes after a right shoulder injury suffered on June 23rd, while attempting a catch in the game against the New York Yankees.
An MRI revealed a partial labrum tear, which will eventually require surgery. Fraley received a cortisone injection and will seek to play through the injury for the remainder of the season.
During Fraley’s absence, the Reds achieved a 7-4 record.
Christian Encarnacion-Strand, who hasn’t played since Noelvi Marte’s return from the injured list on July 4, was sent to Triple-A Louisville.
