The Cincinnati Reds have made significant moves on their roster, activating and placing key players on the injured list. Outfielder Austin Hays was placed on the 10-day injured list, while Jake Fraley, also an outfielder, was activated from the same list.

Hay’s to the Injured List

Hays, 29, suffered a contusion after hitting a ball on his left foot during Wednesday’s loss against Kansas City. This is his third time on the injured list so far this season. In the current season, Hays is batting .303, with an OPS of .901, six home runs, and 25 RBIs in 31 games. The former All-Star’s injured designation is retroactive to Thursday.

Fraley Returns to Action

Fraley, 30, has been sidelined with a calf injury since May 6. In the 28 games played this season, his batting average is .205, with three home runs and nine RBIs.

In addition to these moves, the Reds called up right-handed pitcher Lyon Richardson from Triple-A Louisville before the start of the series against the Chicago Cubs.

Richardson, 25, has a 0-1 record with a 1.32 ERA in 10 appearances out of Cincinnati’s bullpen this season.
