Texas Rangers Sign Korean Prospect Seong-Jun Kim

The Texas Rangers have announced the addition of versatile international player Seong-Jun Kim, finalized this Saturday.

Kim, a talented two-way player, excels both in the field and on the mound. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 185 pounds, this right-handed shortstop and pitcher promises a bright future.

Currently a student at Gwangju Jeil High School, where he will graduate in January of next year, Kim was recognized as the high school player of the year in Korea in 2024.

His pitching ability is impressive, reaching 95 mph. In addition to his pitching prowess, Kim has proven his worth as a position player, primarily at the shortstop position. In the current season, he exhibits a batting average of .333 and an OPS of 1.015.

Kim joins a list of prominent players from his high school who have been recruited by Major League teams, including Byung-Hyun Kim, Hee-Seop Choi, Jae Weong Seo, and Jung Ho Kang.
