Texas Rangers crush Los Angeles Angels with a score of 20-3
In a memorable encounter, the Texas Rangers demonstrated their offensive power by defeating the Los Angeles Angels with a resounding score of 20-3. The game, played on Wednesday night, was marked by a display of home runs and a dominant performance by the Texans.
Adolis García, Joc Pederson, and Kyle Higashioka led the attack with three-run home runs each. Corey Seager also joined the party with his 21st home run of the season, solidifying himself as one of the team’s leaders.
The first inning was a clear indication of what was to come, with Garcia igniting the spark with his number 17 home run, which drove in four runs. Pederson extended the lead in the second inning with his seventh home run of the season, while Seager contributed two more runs in the fourth.
Higashioka closed the account with his tenth home run, establishing a 20-3 lead. This hit came after a peculiar situation, as Oswald Peraza, who was playing first base, went to the mound in the seventh inning and allowed eight runs in his brief performance.
Both Garcia, Pederson, and Higashioka each accumulated five RBIs, contributing to the Rangers recording their highest run total since their 20-6 victory over Minnesota in 2011. This achievement marked a milestone, being only the tenth time that three teammates have achieved five or more RBIs in a game since the statistic became official in 1920.
For the Angels, this was the fourth time in franchise history that they allowed 20 or more runs in a game.
The Rangers’ first three home runs were hit against Jack Kochanowicz, who was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake before the game. Kochanowicz (3-11) allowed 11 runs, 10 of them earned, in 3⅓ innings, setting personal records. His earned run average (ERA) rose to 6.81.
Jacob Webb (5-4) pitched 1⅔ innings without allowing a run, after Jacob Latz started the game as a reliever in place of Nathan Eovaldi, who was placed on the injured list.
Wyatt Langford reached base in all five plate appearances and scored four runs before being replaced by a pinch runner in the seventh inning.
