Texas Rangers Activate Dane Dunning from Triple-A

The Texas Rangers have called up right-handed pitcher Dane Dunning from their Triple-A affiliate, Round Rock, as announced this Monday. The decision was made after sending reliever Caleb Boushley to the minor leagues. The move was made before the start of a three-game series against Baltimore. Boushley, who threw 72 pitches the previous day, faced 22 batters, allowing five runs and 10 hits. This happened during the last four innings of Sunday’s 8-3 loss to Pittsburgh. So far this season, Boushley has an ERA of 5.04 in 15 appearances with the Rangers. Dunning, for his part, has been a regular starter for the Rangers in the last four seasons, with 95 starts. Since the start of last season, he has pitched as a reliever in 16 of his 27 games with Texas. In his only appearance this season, Dunning was on the roster for two days in April before being assigned to Round Rock. The 30-year-old right-handed pitcher has a 26-32 record with a 4.39 ERA in his 118 games with Texas.
