Rangers Activate Evan Carter and Place Adolis García on Injured List

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas Rangers have made significant moves to their roster, placing batter Adolis García on the 10-day injured list due to a left ankle sprain and activating outfielder Evan Carter.

These changes come as the Rangers look to secure a spot in the American League Wild Card race, and were made before the final game of the series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Another outfielder, Wyatt Langford, was also excluded from the starting lineup due to forearm stiffness, although manager Bruce Bochy indicated that he could be available to pinch-hit.

García, who has struggled this season, has a batting average of .224 with 16 home runs and 64 RBIs in 116 games. During the nine-game homestand that culminated with Wednesday’s game, he batted .176 (6 for 34).

Carter, who will turn 23 this month, returns after missing 10 games due to back spasms. Before being placed on the injured list on August 2nd, he was in a slump of 4 for 34. In the previous 55 games, he had batted .238 with four home runs and 21 RBIs.
