San Diego Padres Clinch Playoff Berth!
The San Diego Padres celebrate their return to the postseason for the fourth time in six seasons, following an exciting 5-4 victory in 11 innings against the Milwaukee Brewers. The game, played on Monday night, culminated with a single by Freddy Fermin, acquired at the trade deadline, driving in Bryce Johnson and unleashing euphoria at Petco Park, in front of a crowd of 42,371 fans. This victory brings the Padres 2.5 games closer to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the race for the National League West Division, and the same distance from the Chicago Cubs in the fight for the first wild card.Manny Machado, visibly excited, shared his feelings about the team’s possibilities in the playoffs. Fermin, for his part, expressed his excitement and confidence in the team, mentioning his desire to reach the World Series. The road to the playoffs will not be easy. If the current positions are maintained, the Padres would face the Cubs in a best-of-three wild card series. The winner would face the Brewers.Everything is different. But we have heart. Everyone wants it. It’s always a challenge. Baseball is a challenge. It’s difficult.

Despite offensive ups and downs and some difficulties on the road, the Padres have shown brilliant defensive moments, including spectacular plays by Fernando Tatis Jr.
Tatis Jr. couldn’t participate in the decisive game due to an illness, but Machado included him in the celebration via a video call.
