Jackson Merrill to the Injured List with a Concussion
San Diego Padres’ star outfielder Jackson Merrill has been placed on the seven-day injured list, according to an announcement made on Sunday. The decision comes after Merrill sustained a concussion during Saturday night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The incident occurred in the seventh inning, while Merrill was trying to steal a base. He was hit in the helmet by Arizona’s second baseman, Ketel Marte, during his headfirst slide. Merrill remained on the ground for several minutes before leaving the field.
