Orioles Activate Injured List and Make Roster Moves

The Baltimore Orioles have made significant moves on their roster, including placing first baseman Ryan Mountcastle on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain.

In addition to Mountcastle’s demotion, the Orioles have promoted infielder Coby Mayo and outfielder Jordyn Adams from Triple-A Norfolk.

Also, they designated catcher Chadwick Tromp for assignment.

Mountcastle, 28, has been batting .246 with two home runs and 15 RBIs in 52 games this season.

Mountcastle, first round pick of the 2015 draft, has a batting average of .263 with 93 home runs and 343 RBIs in 615 games since his debut with Baltimore in 2020.

Mayo, 23 years old, participated in four games with the Orioles from May 3 to May 8, batting 1-for-12 with six strikeouts. He made his MLB debut last season and is batting .094 with 28 strikeouts in 21 career games.

Adams, 25, played in 28 games for the Los Angeles Angels between 2023 and 2024, batting .176 with one home run and five RBIs. He signed with the Orioles as a free agent in December.

Tromp, 30, signed with Baltimore on April 13 and did not get a hit in two appearances this season. In his career, he bats .219 with five home runs and 22 RBIs in 63 games with the San Francisco Giants, the Atlanta Braves, and the Orioles.
