J.P. Crawford: Uncertainty for the Season Start with the Mariners
Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford is facing uncertainty about his participation in the season opener due to shoulder issues.
Mariners manager Dan Wilson informed the media on Wednesday that Crawford consulted with Dr. Keith Meister and received a cortisone injection in his shoulder. Wilson noted that Crawford’s availability for the first game of the season remains uncertain.
Crawford, 31, batted .265 with an on-base percentage of .352, hit 12 home runs, drove in 58 runs, and stole eight bases in 157 games last season. He has played in at least 145 games in four of the last five seasons.
