Seattle Mariners Activate Luke Raley, Designate Rowdy Tellez

The Seattle Mariners have made significant moves to their roster this Friday, activating infielder/outfielder Luke Raley from the 10-day injured list and designating first baseman Rowdy Tellez for assignment. Raley, 30, returns to the team after his last participation on April 27. He was placed on the injured list three days later due to a strain in the right oblique. During his rehabilitation in Triple-A Tacoma, Raley had an outstanding performance, batting .368 with a home run and three RBIs in five games. Before the injury, Raley was batting .206 with two home runs and eight RBIs in 24 games with Seattle. Throughout his career, the player has a .235 average, with 46 home runs and 123 RBIs in 334 games, playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers (2021), the Tampa Bay Rays (2022-23) and the Mariners. Tellez, also 30 years old, in his first season with Seattle, batted .208 with 11 home runs, 27 RBIs, and 49 strikeouts in 62 games. The player signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Mariners in February. Tellez, who is 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, has a .232 batting average with 116 home runs and 346 RBIs in 726 games, playing for the Toronto Blue Jays (2018-21), the Milwaukee Brewers (2021-23), the Pittsburgh Pirates (2024), and the Mariners.
