Diamondbacks Star Ketel Marte’s House Robbed During All-Star Break
Scottsdale, Arizona – The residence of prominent Arizona Diamondbacks player Ketel Marte was the victim of a robbery during the Major League Baseball All-Star break, authorities reported.
Scottsdale police confirmed they are investigating a “high-value residential burglary” that allegedly took place Tuesday night, coinciding with Marte’s participation in the National League All-Star Game in Atlanta.
Multiple personal items and jewelry were stolen. At the time of the incident, the house was unoccupied.
The authorities indicated that the property “allegedly” belongs to Mars. Records from the Maricopa County Assessor’s Office corroborate that Mars owns a house in the area where the robbery occurred.
Police investigation is ongoing.
Mars had an outstanding performance in the All-Star Game, including a double that drove in two runs in the first inning, contributing to the National League’s victory, which was decided after a home run competition after the score remained tied at the end of the nine regulation innings.
This robbery adds to a series of similar incidents that have affected renowned athletes throughout the country during the current year. Athletes are targets of these crimes due to the high-value assets they usually possess in their residences, and sometimes, the robberies occur while they are away from home participating in games.
