Aaron Judge Achieves Historic Milestone with 350 Home Runs

Aaron Judge, the star player for the New York Yankees, has set a new speed record by reaching 350 home runs in his career. Judge achieved this feat in record time, surpassing the mark previously set by Mark McGwire. The hit that allowed him to reach this historic figure was a two-run home run hit against pitcher Brad Keller of the Chicago Cubs. Despite Judge’s individual achievement, the game did not favor the Yankees, who were defeated by the Cubs with a score of 5-2 in the Bronx.

I just think he’s playing in a different league.

Aaron Boone, Yankees Manager
Judge reached 350 home runs in his game number 1,088, surpassing McGwire’s previous record by almost 200 games, who achieved it in 1,280 games.

Big Mac did many great things in this game, and he’s definitely a legend. It would have been great if we had won today. I’ve been surrounded by great teammates, I’ve been on good teams, so they really put me in the best position to go out and perform at my best.

Judge, who turned 33 in April, debuted with the Yankees at 24 in 2016. McGwire, for his part, ended his career in 2001 at 38, with a total of 583 home runs, currently in 11th place on the all-time home run list. In the game, Cubs pitcher Matthew Boyd allowed two doubles to Judge, but kept the rest of the Yankees at bay, winning the left-handed pitching duel against Max Fried, who had to leave the game after only three innings due to a blister on his pitching hand. Boyd (10-3), in his first All-Star appearance, earned his fourth consecutive victory and fifth straight decision, allowing four hits in eight scoreless innings, with six strikeouts and no walks. He threw 62 of 85 pitches for strikes. Daniel Palencia, with pitches up to 101.1 mph, got two outs for his 11th save in 12 opportunities, helping to break the Yankees’ five-game winning streak. Fried (11-3) allowed nine of the 18 batters to reach base, giving up four runs, three of them earned, six hits and three walks in three innings. He threw only 39 of 73 pitches for strikes. Fried, a three-time All-Star, was on the injured list for blisters on his left index finger in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2023. Before the game, he had a 6-0 record against the Cubs. Nico Hoerner hit a triple at the start of the game and scored thanks to an out by Kyle Tucker. Carson Kelly and Ian Happ hit RBI singles in the third inning, along with a sacrifice fly by Dansby Swanson. Kelly hit a home run in the eighth inning against Jonathan Loaisiga, who has allowed a personal record of seven home runs in 23⅔ innings in his return from Tommy John surgery.
