Jason Foley Misses Season with Shoulder Injury
Detroit Tigers right-handed pitcher Jason Foley, who led the team with 28 saves last season, will undergo surgery that will sideline him for the rest of the year.
“He will want to forget 2025 because it was going to be a very important part of this season,” manager A.J. Hinch said on Tuesday. “I love him as a competitor and I know he will attack this rehabilitation.”

Foley, 29, was sent to Triple-A Toledo after spring training. The previous season, only four American League pitchers surpassed his saves.
Last month, Foley was placed on the injured list due to a right shoulder strain.
In 69 appearances last year, Foley had a 3-6 record with an ERA of 3.15, tying Will Vest for the team lead. In addition, he surpassed any other Tigers player by more than 20 saves. In more than three seasons, Foley has a 7-9 record with a 3.16 ERA in 210 games.
