Cleveland Guardians Adjust Their Roster: Noel Sent to Triple-A

The Cleveland Guardians have made important decisions regarding their roster. The team has sent Jhonkensy Noel to Triple-A Columbus and, in his place, has called up outfielder Johnathan Rodriguez.

Noel, 23, has not managed to maintain the level shown in his rookie season in 2024, where he hit 13 home runs in 67 games. In the playoffs, his performance was 2 hits in 21 at-bats, although he stood out with a crucial home run in the ninth inning of Game 3 of the American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees, a game that Cleveland won 7-5 in 10 innings.

So far this season, Noel is batting .146, with two home runs and nine RBIs. In addition, he has been struck out 34 times in 46 games.

On the other hand, Rodriguez, 25, was part of Cleveland’s initial roster at the beginning of the season, but was sent to the minors on April 9. In his 46 games with Columbus, he has shown a notable performance, batting .324 with seven home runs and 32 RBIs.
