Lane Thomas Returns to Action with the Guardians
Cleveland Guardians center fielder Lane Thomas is back with the team and ready to play. Thomas, who had not participated in games since April 19 due to a right wrist injury, was activated and will be in Thursday’s game against the Detroit Tigers.
Thomas, who played a prominent role in the 2024 postseason for Cleveland, suffered a wrist injury from a pitch during the season’s first home game against the Chicago White Sox on April 8. Although he played five games after the wrist initially responded to treatment, the pain persisted, forcing him to stay off the field.
The Guardians acquired Thomas in a trade in July with the Washington Nationals. Previously, Thomas had suffered two fractures in the same wrist after being hit by pitches. His impact on the team was notable, including two home runs in the American League Division Series against Detroit.
In a roster-related move, the Guardians placed outfielder Will Brennan on the 10-day injured list.
