Luis García Leaves the Game with Injury

In an unexpected turn of events, Houston Astros right-handed pitcher Luis García had to leave Tuesday’s game in Toronto due to an apparent injury. García, who was making his second start after more than two years of inactivity following Tommy John surgery, was replaced by AJ Blubaugh in the second inning. The pitcher threw 27 pitches, of which 14 were strikes. García’s signal to the dugout came after throwing an 88 mph changeup to Ernie Clement with two outs in the second inning.

García earned the victory against the Angels on September 1st, allowing three hits and three runs in six innings in his first start since May 1st, 2023.
