Dylan Beavers set to debut in Major League Baseball with the Orioles
Prospect Dylan Beavers is set for his Major League debut. The Baltimore Orioles have decided to call up the outfielder from their Triple-A affiliate Norfolk, as announced this Saturday.
Beavers, considered Baltimore’s second-best prospect, was selected 33rd overall in the 2022 amateur draft. The left-handed hitter has had an outstanding season in Norfolk.
In 94 games, Beavers batted .304, hit 18 home runs, drove in 51 runs, and stole 23 bases.
The 24-year-old player is expected to strengthen the outfield corps, especially after Cedric Mullins’ departure to the Mets at the trade deadline.
Beavers, who is 6 feet 5 inches and 206 pounds, was drafted by Baltimore after three college seasons at California.
To make room on the roster, the Orioles designated outfielder Greg Allen for assignment.
