Dodgers Promote Alex Freeland and Place Hyeseong Kim on Injured List
The Los Angeles Dodgers made significant moves to their roster before Tuesday night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds. The team called up infielder Alex Freeland and placed Hyeseong Kim on the 10-day injured list.
Freeland, selected in the third round of the MLB draft in 2022, is called up to the Major Leagues for the first time. This versatile infielder batted .253 with 12 home runs and 71 RBIs for the Triple-A Oklahoma City team. Although he has played primarily as a shortstop, he has also participated at second and third base.
Kim, who suffers from bursitis in his left shoulder, becomes the fourteenth Dodgers player to go on the injured list. In the current season, Kim has participated in 58 games, with a batting average of .304, two home runs, and 15 RBIs.
