The player Rafael Devers, who was traded to the San Francisco Giants in June after expressing his desire not to play first base with the Boston Red Sox, will make his debut in that position this Tuesday night.

Devers, a three-time All-Star, signed a 10-year, $313.5 million contract with the Red Sox in 2023. The Giants acquired him in June to strengthen their offense, and since then he has been a fundamental part of the team as a designated hitter.

Upon arriving in San Francisco, Devers stated he was willing to do whatever it takes to help the Giants win, and has been working regularly at first base in preparation for his debut.

This Tuesday, Devers will bat in the third position against the Atlanta Braves.

Since his arrival at the Giants, Devers has dealt with a back disc injury that has limited his production, batting .219 with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs in 29 games since the trade. Overall, on the season, he is batting .257 with 17 home runs and 68 RBIs.
