Twins’ Byron Buxton Questionable With Rib Irritation

MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Twins reported on Sunday that their All-Star center fielder, Byron Buxton, is day-to-day due to irritation in the rib cage cartilage. Buxton was removed from Saturday’s game against Washington after feeling discomfort in his side while running. An MRI performed on Sunday confirmed cartilage irritation.

“It’s a good result,” said Twins manager Rocco Baldelli. “We’ll see how he is tomorrow and so on, but being day-to-day with what the game left, is a good thing.”

Buxton, 31 years old, is batting .282 with 23 home runs and an OPS of .905.
