TAMPA, Fla. – The Milwaukee Brewers made important decisions on their roster this Sunday, sending right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers to Triple-A Nashville and calling up right-handed reliever Elvis Peguero.

Myers, 26, was demoted to the minor leagues following his performance on Saturday, where he allowed two runs, three hits, and three walks in four innings during the 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.

After beginning the season on the injured list due to a left oblique strain, Myers compiled a 1-0 record with a 3.86 ERA in five appearances, including four starts. In 16⅓ innings, he struck out 11 batters, walked 10, and allowed 15 hits.

Last season, Myers had an outstanding performance as a rookie, with a 9-6 record and a 3.00 ERA. He was recognized as the Brewers’ most valuable pitcher by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, Milwaukee chapter. His season culminated with five scoreless innings in the decisive Game 3 of the National League Wild Card Series.

On the other hand, Peguero, 28, has a 0-0 record with an ERA of 5.68 in five relief appearances for Milwaukee so far this season. In seven games with Nashville, his record was 0-0 with an ERA of 2.25.
