Jackson Chourio Leaves Game Due to Injury

Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Jackson Chourio had to leave Tuesday night’s game against the Chicago Cubs due to a right hamstring spasm. The incident occurred while Chourio was attempting to complete a triple in the fifth inning, according to the team. Brewers manager Pat Murphy did not offer an immediate update after the game. However, Chourio expressed that he does not believe the injury is serious.

My leg is a little tight, but I feel good. At first I felt a tingling sensation. The more I ran, I was just hoping to get to third base. Once I got there, I felt more than anything like a cramp.

In addition, Cubs outfielder Ian Happ was also removed from the game after being hit by a ball on his left shin. Although the X-rays were negative, the Cubs have called up Moises Ballesteros from Triple-A. Chourio hit a ball that hit the center field wall and got a triple. Upon reaching third base, he felt discomfort and requested assistance from the coach and the manager. After being evaluated, Chourio left the field. Blake Perkins, who entered as a pinch runner, scored thanks to a double by William Contreras. Before leaving the game, 21-year-old Chourio went 2-for-3. He leads in doubles and has a batting average of .276 with 17 home runs for the first-place Brewers. In addition, he has driven in 67 runs and stolen 18 bases so far this season.
