Jacob Misiorowski Returns From Injured List; Brewers Bolster Roster
Milwaukee Brewers rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski has been activated from the injured list after missing approximately two and a half weeks due to a contusion on his left tibia.
This decision opens the possibility of the right-handed pitcher participating in the first game of the series of the leaders of the National League Central Division, this Friday in Cincinnati. The Brewers will seek to obtain their thirteenth consecutive victory, which would equal the longest winning streak in franchise history. The Brewers achieved 13 consecutive victories in 1987.
Misiorowski’s last appearance was on July 28, in an 8-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs. During that game, his knee appeared to give way in the first inning while fielding a ground ball and throwing errantly to first base, although he remained in the game and pitched for four innings.
In his seven starts, Misiorowski has a 4-1 record and an ERA of 2.70. He has struck out 47 batters in 33 1/3 innings.
In addition to Misiorowski’s activation, the Brewers made other moves on their roster on Friday.
- Right-handed pitcher Grant Anderson was sent to Triple-A Nashville.
- Outfielder Blake Perkins was placed on the injured list.
- Outfielder Isaac Collins was placed on the paternity list.
- Infielder Tyler Black and outfielder Steward Berroa were recalled from Nashville.
Anderson, 28, had a 2/3 record with a 3.07 ERA in 53 relief appearances with Milwaukee.
