Xander Bogaerts has a home run overturned due to fan interference; Mike Shildt is ejected

In a dramatic turn during Monday night’s game between the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants, Xander Bogaerts had a home run overturned due to a controversial fan interference call.

The incident occurred in the second inning, when a Bogaerts fly ball to left field appeared to bounce off Heliot Ramos’ glove and go over the fence. Two fans, one of them wearing a Giants jersey, tried to catch the ball.

After an extensive review, the umpires determined that there was interference by the fans, nullifying the home run and marking Bogaerts as out.

The decision provoked the immediate reaction of the Padres’ manager, Mike Shildt, who was ejected from the game for arguing with the umpires.

The fans present in the stadium responded with boos for the rest of the entrance.

On the other hand, Heliot Ramos hit a home run at the beginning of the game, which was the first of three consecutive home runs that gave the Giants a 4-0 lead.
