KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Toronto Blue Jays, led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Andrés Giménez, secured their playoff berth by defeating the Kansas City Royals with a score of 8-5 this Sunday.
Guerrero Jr. and Giménez drove in two runs each, contributing significantly to the team’s victory.
The Blue Jays, who lead the American League and the East Division, return to the postseason for the first time since 2023. With this victory, they improved their record to 90-66, the best in the American League.
In the second inning, the Blue Jays scored three runs thanks to hits by Giménez, Tyler Heineman, and George Springer.
