Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette has expressed his optimism about his participation in the upcoming World Series, the first for the team since 1993. Bichette, who injured his knee in a collision at the plate on September 6th, stated that he will be ready to join his teammates. The 27-year-old player has not participated in games since his injury. However, during the team’s celebration after the 4-3 victory over the Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series, Bichette expressed his enthusiasm.

This is a dream for me to be playing in these games. But this group is so easy to support… They played incredible.

Before the crucial Game 7, Blue Jays manager John Schneider reported Bichette’s “significant progress” in his rehabilitation. During the regular season, Bichette had a batting average of .311, tied for second in the American League, with 18 home runs, 94 RBIs, and an OPS of .840 in 139 games. Despite his offensive achievements, he was recognized as the shortstop with the worst defensive performance in the Major Leagues according to the metrics of outs above average and defensive runs saved. The Toronto Blue Jays will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series this Friday.
