Astros Make Multiple Roster Moves

The Houston Astros have made a series of adjustments to their roster, including placing outfielder Jacob Melton on the 10-day injured list.

Melton, 24, suffered a sprain in his right ankle during the Astros’ 10-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Friday.

In Friday’s game, Melton hit a three-pointer and drove in three runs, accumulating a batting average of .241 with six RBIs and three stolen bases in 11 games.

Selected in the second round of the 2022 draft, coming from Oregon State, Melton debuted in the Major Leagues on June 1st.

In addition to Melton’s injury, the Astros sent infielder/outfielder Shay Whitcomb to Triple-A Sugar Land and moved right-handed pitcher Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) to the 60-day injured list.

To complete the 26-player roster for Saturday, Houston selected outfielder Cooper Hummel and infielder Luis Guillorme from Sugar Land.
