Astros Suffer Significant Loss: Luis Guillorme to the Injured List

The Houston Astros have placed infielder Luis Guillorme on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain. This is the latest setback for the American League West-leading team.

Guillorme, a veteran with eight years of experience, participated in 12 games with the Astros. The situation worsens after the recent inclusion of shortstop Jeremy Peña on the 10-day injured list due to a broken rib.

To cover Guillorme’s absence, infielder Zack Short was called up from Triple-A Sugar Land and added to the 40-man roster.

In addition, designated hitter Yordan Alvarez was transferred to the 60-day injured list to make room on the roster.

Alvarez has been out of action for two months due to a fracture in his right hand. Recently, he suffered a setback in his recovery, making his return to the team uncertain.

In the last two months, the Astros have placed six position players on the injured list, totaling 14 players, including pitchers, out of action due to injuries.
