Astros Activate Walker From Paternity List

The Houston Astros have placed first baseman Christian Walker on the paternity list this Monday, just before the start of a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians.

Walker, who is in his first season with the Astros, has a batting average of .231, with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has recently shown a notable improvement, after a slow start, batting .429 with two home runs and eight RBIs in six games this month.

To fill his spot on the roster, the Astros, leaders of the American League West Division, called up outfielder Kenedy Corona from Triple-A Sugar Land. Corona, 25, is batting .228 with six home runs and 28 RBIs in the minor leagues this season.

Additionally, right-handed pitcher Jordan Weems was released from waivers and opted for free agency.
