Astros Complete Coaching Staff for Next Season
Houston – The Astros have finalized the configuration of their coaching staff for next season, announcing the addition of Ethan Katz as assistant pitching coach and Tim Cossins as catching instructor.
Katz arrives at the Astros after serving as a pitching coach for the Chicago White Sox since 2021. During his time there, the team ranked third in the American League in strikeouts per nine innings. Previously, he worked for the Giants in 2020 and before that, he coached in the minor leagues for the Giants, Mariners, and Angels.
Cossins joins Houston after spending part of the last seven seasons as a field coordinator and receivers instructor for the Orioles. He has worked with receivers for part of the last 19 seasons, including his time in the minor leagues for the Marlins and Cubs. As a player, Cossins participated in 255 minor league games for the Rangers, Yankees and Expos.
