José Altuve undergoes foot procedure, but will be ready for spring training

The star player for the Houston Astros, José Altuve, underwent a minor procedure on his right foot on Monday, according to a report from MLB.com. He is expected to be fully recovered for the start of spring training.

Altuve, who played roles in both second base and left field last season, had to drain fluid from an injury located between two toes, according to the report.

The injury caused him discomfort during the last two weeks of the season.

The nine-time All-Star, who is preparing for his 16th season with the Astros, batted .265 with 26 home runs and 77 RBIs the previous season.
